MY TESTIMONY

   I was fifteen years old and staying with a family of a Mom, a Dad, three girls and two boys.  The children were younger than I.  The Mom, Anna, took all of us to Church at least every Sunday.

   One day, Anna and I were talking at her dinner table and she led me to Salvation:  She told a story about a man who had a valuable pocket watch that also had sentimental value for him.  One day, he offered the watch to three boys.  Two did not believe that he would really give them the watch, but the third reached out his hand.  He knew how much the watch meant to the man and would care for the watch as the man who offered it had.  The man placed the watch in the boy's hand and closed his fingers around it lovingly.

   She said that was all I had to do to be cleansed of my sin.  All I had to do was to reach out and receive the gift of salvation.  The price had already been paid.  I wanted that more than I could say, so I reached out to Jesus.  He answered.  We traded places, He on the cross in my place, me into The Royal Family.  Thank you, Jesus.  You made someone who was ugly into someone who is beautiful.  I gained an entirely new identity, a child of The Most High God!

   God did that for us.  Jesus came to us out of the riches of Heaven.  He gave up everything, including his mortal life to pay for our sins.  He was the only sacrifice that would be sufficient to pay for our sins.  Without His sacrifice, we would spend eternity in Hell, because even our own lives are unworthy to make us clean before the righteous God.

   We inherited the "DNA" of sin from Adam and Eve.  That has separated us from our righteous God.   Therefore, He devised a plan to redeem us:  Jesus.  When we acknowledge our sinful nature, and accept Jesus as our Savior, God welcomes us into His family.  We have the right to call the Sovereign God our Father.
