Dr. Doolittle

Now that we understand "the beginning", and how we came to be, let us study how we lost that perfect fellowship with my loving God:  Genesis 3.  This is the story of WHY we need salvation.  Adam and Eve were in perfect harmony with God.  Then, they took their focus off God and decided they would make their own rules and disobey Him.  The serpent spoke to Eve (yes, the serpent spoke!), and Eve coveted the forbidden fruit.  She wanted to be like God, not obey Him.  Fast forward to Deuteronomy 6, where God's tenth commandment is, "Thou shalt not covet your neighbor's".........  It is a killer!  We were created for God's pleasure, NOT ours!  He created us.  We owe our very existance to Him.   God made Adam and Eve clothes out of  "skins".  In other words, blood was shed to cover them.  Blood had to be shed to "cover" our sins, also.

Divine order of creation

Genesis 1:11, 12
Have you noticed in your daily life that dolphins produce dolphins, that monkeys produce monkeys, that humans produce humans?  We don't have a monkey arm or a lion leg.  In Genesis, we learn why a maple tree produces a maple tree and not a mimosa tree.  Simple things we take for granted, but this is the Divine order of creation.  God is awesome!  He has the answers to problems even before they are presented.
We praise you, Lord, for your amazing wisdom.

Basics

I have recently been asked to "explain God" by a friend whose family member is experiencing the spirit of disease.  She is battling this spirit by conventional scientific methods (medical treatments).  I have no theological degree, but I believe in order to "explain God", I must begin at the beginning.  For too long, we have been taught in public schools that we came from "slime" (theory of evolution).  I contend that we were "fearfully and wonderfully made"  Psalm 139:14 by my loving God who yearns for a relationship with us Genesis 1, 2.  When we get the foundation of the Truth, then we can build our understanding of His desire for us, which is only good! (Jeremiah 29:11-13).
So, let us read and meditate on Genesis 1 and 2 this week, that we may understand God.  As we listen to God (by reading His Word), let us all pray that God will defeat this spirit of disease that torments Jessica.  Let us all praise God that we have the opportunity, due to her battle, to witness for Him in these last days, and pray that many souls will be saved (Matthew 10:37).
God, we give you the praise and glory for this day and this opportunity.  Thank you, Lord. In the name of my savior, Jesus Christ, I pray for your mercy on Jessica, and if you are willing, that you heal her body.  Lord, the time is short and I pray this note will touch hearts and souls will be saved through Your mercy and Your grace.  In the loving name of Jesus Christ I pray.  Amen

Update:  Jessica passed away on October 10, 2011.
