REVELATION 9 PART 2
VERSES 13 - 21
13) And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14) Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15) And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
16) And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
17) And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
18) By these three was the third part of men killed: by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
19) For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
20) And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
21) Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
COMMENTARY
With the abyss being unlocked in the last trumpet added to two hundred million fallen angels/evil spirits associated with the sixth trumpet, all of my commentaries want to discuss angels: when they were created, how many were created, how they don't have the opportunity to repent of their sins, etc. The Holy Bible is about Jesus; it is not a history lesson about God's creations. We are not told explicitly when God created angels but we know He did. He created everything and everyone.
These 200,000,000 fallen angels have been locked up in the Euphrates River since the flood in the days of Noah. That just sends chills down my back, as we are currently living as in the days of Noah; evil is spreading like wildfire and even those in charge of protecting us are infected with it. Any way, can you imagine how they have been contemplating their release for these thousands of years? When they are released, their main mission will be to destroy mankind.
The appearance of these angels, as the appearance of those from the fifth trumpet are unique. The commentaries suggest that these are physical creatures indwelled by these fallen angels. These creatures have the ability to kill, as angels do not. My thoughts are such that after the great earthquake, nuclear reactors may have been damaged, leading to the public explanation that these were a result of that. What are your thoughts?
Finally, allow me to convey what the commentaries say about the "sorceries" in chapter 21: The Greek word for this is "pharmakeia", where we get "pharmacy". In Galatians 5:20, "drugs" (Greek word: witchcraft) is inserted between a long line of fleshy sins between idolatry and hatred. So, drug abuse abounds in the last days. Today, the United States of America is speeding to legalize the use of marijuana. I am not taking a stand one way or another on this since there are so many legal drugs that can be abused AND there are certainly street drugs. I am pointing out the proliferation of the push for and acceptance of drugs.
